Please ask – we’re here to help!
The Adult Services department, located on the second floor of the library, will assist you with your information needs. We have a wide variety of print and online reference resources to help you find the answer.
Stop by the Information Desk or call us at (413) 525-5400, ext. 1508. You may also submit your question via our ONLINE FORM. Enter your information and submit your question. We will try to respond withing 24 hours. Please keep in mind the library is always closed on Sundays as well as Saturdays in June, July and August. Of course our web page is always open, with links to all the “virtual” resources you may need, whether you’re an early bird, a night owl or a last minute “gotta get this done” person. Spend a little time familiarizing yourself with our website and all it offers.
Library Internet Access
The Library currently has 12 computer workstations with Internet access and a variety of application software on the second floor. Printing from public computers is possible in both black and white and color. Black and white copies are 15 cents per page, color copies are 25 cents per page.
Library Internet Acceptable Use Policy
You must accept the Library’s Internet Use Policy to use the library computers or the wireless Internet. Public computer users will be prompted to accept the policy when they log onto a library computer; patrons using laptops must accept the policy using a web browser before wireless access to the Internet will be granted.
Wireless Internet Access
Wireless Internet access is available throughout the entire library, including the library meeting rooms and study rooms. Your device will need to be configured to obtain an IP address automatically using DHCP. In the list of available wireless networks, you must click on Town Hall/Library to connect to the wireless network. Because each person’s device is going to be different you will be responsible for knowing how to configure your own equipment.
Wireless printing is not available at this time. Electrical outlets are available under all library tables.
Photocopier and Scanning
A color photocopier is available on the second floor. Color copies are 25 cents per page. Scanning documents to email is also possible using the color photocopier. There is no charge for scanning.
A black and white photocopier is available on the first floor. Black and white copies are 15 cents each.
There are two study rooms available on a first come-first served basis on the second floor for quiet study and discussion. Patrons who wish to use a study room must first sign in at the Information Desk with a photo ID. Rooms may not be reserved in advance and only one hour of uninterrupted use is guaranteed.
