Located on the second floor, the library has a Local History Room with items pertaining to the town’s history. Members of the EL Historical Commission are available to assist patrons with their research. The Local History Room is open and staffed the second Wednesday of every month from 1:00 to 2:00 pm and the fourth Monday of every month from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. For appointments or limited use of materials at other times, please contact the library’s Information Desk at 413-525-5400, x1508.

Remote access is available to East Longmeadow residents.
This genealogy resource delivers billions of records in census data, vital records, directories, photos, and more on individuals from North America, the UK, Europe, Australia through more than 7,000 available databases. Ancestry is available in the library only.
Heritage Quest (in-house) Heritage Quest (remote)
This collection consists of U.S. Federal Censuses from 1790 through 1930; genealogy and local history books from over 28,000 family histories, Periodical Source Index (PERSI), an index to periodicals of more than 2 million records of titles published since 1800.
Remote access is possible with an East Longmeadow library card.
